Koi UFO Video 059 : 2 Jet fighters escorting UFO (created by Oondyla)

[DEBUNKED] Koi UFO Video 059 is a video appearing to show two jet fighters escorting a UFO.

As detailed below, it is a hoaxed UFO video signed (pun intended) by the hoaxer, "Oondyla".

Many UFO hoax videos in fact indicate their creator, in the same way that some crop circles were signed by their creators.

Many people that comment on such hoaxes/artwork don't seem aware of the fact that a game is being played, let alone the rules of the game or the identity of the major players in the game...

1. The relevant video

This video was uploaded by Oondyla to Youtube (as Youtube video hz7FQ2NvBLU) on 14 August 2011 with the title "INCREDIBLE UFO SIGHTING: TWO MILITARY JETS CONVOY AN UFO!!".  It has been repeatedly reposted since then, usually with titles claiming that it shows 2 jets chasing a UFO or jets escorting a UFO.

The following sample screenshots are taken from that video for ease of identification of the relevant video:

2. Stories and claims relating to this video

This video was uploaded by Oondyla to Youtube (as Youtube video hz7FQ2NvBLU) on 14 August 2011 with the title "INCREDIBLE UFO SIGHTING: TWO MILITARY JETS CONVOY AN UFO!!"

The video was accompanied by the following text: "That's an incredible real shot of an ufo and two military jets attend it. I was taking some shot for a test, when I heard a strong sound...

they know!!!that is the truth!!!!".

The video regularly resurfaces online. For example, in 2014 the video gained tens of thousands of "likes" on Facebook.  It is extremely rare for discussions of the video to note the real background to this hoax.

3. The real background to this video

Some of the online discussions of this video (see references Section 4 below) have pointed to alleged video compositing errors and other technical points indicating a hoax.

Some of those points are misconceived and involve a failure to understand the effects of video compression and other matters.  In any event, there is a much simpler indication of a hoaxer.

In short, the video is signed (pun intended) by the hoaxer on a road sign that appears at the end of the video.

At the end of the video, the image zooms out and a road sign becomes visible at the bottom right of the screen.

If you enlarge that part of the video, you can see the name "Oondyla".

"Oondyla" is the Youtube name of the user that uploaded the video in 2011. His Youtube video channel also happens to include:

(1) A video illustrating his skills in creating video special effects.

(2) Other UFO videos that happen to have the name "Oondyla" on signs in the videos.

Also, if you have a glance at the oondyla.com website via the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine then you will see that Oondyla.com was set up as a viral marketing website:

The relevant road sign in the "fighter jet" video can be seen in the screen shots below from that video.

To make the name "oondyla" clearer, I have enlarged the relevant road sign below:

Oondyla's video illustrating his skills in creating video special effects is embedded here:

One of Oondyla's other "UFO" videos is embedded below, with a screen shot of his name coincidentally appearing on a sign on a building in that video:
